Impending Footsteps of Doom

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 1, 2008, 11:50 AM
  • Listening to: Reels to Ragas (I'm at work once more).
  • Reading: The Adventure of English by Melvyn Bragg.
  • Watching: the VU meters (I'm still at work).
  • Playing: with deviantART.
  • Eating: nothing (I had dinner a moment ago).
  • Drinking: water.
Dissertation, dissertation, dissertation :typerhappy:.

Other than that, certain complaints I made resulted in a series of polite threats so I'm not best buds with a certain teaching institute at the moment. Enough said about that, I think.

I recently increased the gallery with some poster projects and sketchbook work; your comments, fellow deviants, are always appreciated. I'm going to have a look at my personal linguistic projects and see what seeds of artwork lie within. I'll be making some deviations out of the material I glean so I hope to be further increasing the gallery very soon.

This month's entry for the Patricktionary is inveigh (in-VAY) v. to declaim or harshly criticise someone or something.

Fiat lux,
Paddy

It would be interesting to see the emblem under which the professional Snowmask works :D. I have to upload my own emblem at some point. In fact, I have to upload a lot of stuff at some point. College is nearly out for the year so I'm waiting until then.

It's the official look ;-). Is your logo anywhere in your gallery? I couldn't spot it.

How else is "glass" and "father" pronounced? :giggle: Except the American way.

Haha.

I just have a logo of Snowmask on my letterheads, my company :P and a phone number, e-mail and address. Boring stuff.

I had a feeling; south England is probably the only place on earth that pronounces the 'a' in glass like the 'a' in father. I'm from Kent myself, just a bit south of London. I moved to Ireland in 1995 but I still have the accent ;-).

So, in summation, French-Japanese-Chinese-of-Hong-Kong-from-England-in-America. Now that would look fancy on a letterhead :-).

Oh I like. Why make a sculpture when we won't have an audience?

Well I'm glad you've finally gotten the videos (I still think Firefox is by far the best internet browser right now).

I... lol. It's kind of difficult to say where I'm really from. I'm of French-Japanese (some Chinese) descendant. I was born in Hong Kong, but I grew up and received my childhood schooling in London, England. I visited Hong Kong and Japan every year throughout. And then I finished my schooling in Hong Kong. And... now I'm with my husband, visiting his friends and family in the US :giggle: My husband has lived in Japan too for a long time and we really want to return, where we hope to live out most of our lives.

SO YES. The accent is from living in London.

I don't know. How about a sculpture then calling the cops? Let's be fully creative here ;-).

I'm an Internet Explorer man myself and while I'm fully up-to-date with that I don't think I'm quite the same with the Quicktime plug-ins. I'll have to take a look at modernising them a bit. All that aside, I watched the videos; that was one fine-looking pie. Lovingly prepared and no doubt lovingly eaten too :D. One thing that was puzzling me through the videos was your accent; where are you from? There's a distinct southern English edge to your voice.

Lovely :) Do you have the newest Firefox and Quicktime plugins? Just curious.

He won't be able to hide you under the floorboards.

Not until I gather up your body parts first!!

I'll figure out what to do with them when I have them. Probably build a sculpture or something.

... instead of calling the cops.

I had been trying to open them in the browser and it didn't like them. I never thought of right-clicking but, now that I've tried it, it seems to work perfectly :D. I'm in the library in college so I'll download them all and watch them later. Flaky pastry, here I come!

As for the pictograms, thanks :-). I want to get them finished before my tutor decides to chop me up and hide the pieces under the floorboards; I may have been a bit too lax with my projects recently :D.

If you use Firefox you should be able to download it without problem by right-clicking (or ctrl+click if you're on a Mac) and go through your Page Source

And that sounds fascinating. I can't wait to see it finished!! :)

Way! Excellent :-). I tried to watch the video but I couldn't download it properly. I'll have to try it again. I have a typography project to do on apple pie, weirdly enough. I have to represent a recipe entirely with pictograms. I might submit the finished piece and offer a prize for the nearest translation of it :D.
